Practical exchange on the production of the bulk among the specialist employees

Expert employees engaged in lively practical exchange on the production of bulk on the fourth training day, on the theme of “Process technologies & plant safety in chemical engineering.

In 2022, around 2,500 different bulks were produced in the mixers at the FRIKE Group’s five plants. Despite wearing protective suits and goggles, bulk mixing specialists are exposed to daily risks ranging from eye burns from acid splashes to fire and explosion hazards from flammable solvents. Chemicals are largely mixed by hand in the mixer, which requires the utmost precision and concentration. Beyond the legal regulations and guidelines for good practice in bulk production, the management of the FRIKE GROUP has set itself the goal of offering employees the highest standards in occupational health and safety.

Knowledge minimizes risks

Prevention is always better than intervention. With that in mind, the FRIKE Academy has launched an in-house specialist training course for production employees, focusing on “Safety & specialist knowledge in chemical engineering”. The 18-month advanced training program is carried out in cooperation with aprentas (a training association for basic and further training in scientific, technical and commercial professions) and is structured in three stages – Creating Foundations, Deepening Knowledge and Transferring Knowledge – each of which have four modules. The course days are led by Monika Hüppeler, a qualified chemist and aprentas safety engineer, who is responsible for the training. The further training program hones employees’ specialist knowledge and minimizes health risks as a preventive measure. Furthermore, the cross-location exchange of practical experience between producers also promotes a sense of unity within the Group and provides an opportunity to benefit from the experience of other employees.

The FRIKE Academy encompasses the entire training and development concept for the FRIKE GROUP’s 300 or so employees. We offer apprenticeships in logistics, management training for executives, general employee training and specific specialist training such as further training for our bulk producers and galenics.
