Foam Formation Due to the Weissel Effect
Strictly speaking, the whitening effect is a form of microfoaming that can occur when an emulsion is applied to the skin. Silicones are anti-foaming agents that prevent these air bubbles from forming in the first place. If we formulate without silicones, we need new strategies to prevent emulsions from foaming, since there are currently no anti-foaming agents other than silicones available.
The Cause as a Solution Strategy
Understanding the causes of foaming and crumbling allows us to develop strategies to prevent these effects. In this presentation, we will derive a hypothesis regarding the respective causes and present corresponding solutions, accompanied by sample recipes and demonstrations using finished samples.
